The gear metering pump is a pair of meshing gears, one of which is the driving gear and the other is the passive gear, which is driven by the driving gear to rotate in meshing.
There is a small gap between the gear and the pump body. When the gear rotates, the closed volume between the teeth increases in the suction chamber where the gear teeth gradually disengage, forming a partial vacuum. The melt is sucked into the pump body under the action of the pressure difference. As the gear rotates, the melt is pushed forward by the gears between the gear and the housing in two ways and sent to the outlet. At the outlet end, the two gears gradually mesh, the volume decreases, and the melt between the gears is squeezed to the outlet.
