Product Description

National Instruments PCIE-7842R

The National Instruments PCIE-7842R is a high-performance R-Series Multifunction RIO device designed for applications that require custom timing, control, and signal processing. It features a user-programmable Kintex-7 FPGA, which allows for the creation of highly customized hardware logic to achieve deterministic, high-speed I/O operations. With a combination of analog inputs, analog outputs, and a high count of digital I/O lines, the PCIE-7842R is ideal for complex tasks such as hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation, custom protocol communication, sensor simulation, and rapid control prototyping. The onboard FPGA provides the flexibility to implement custom algorithms directly in hardware, offloading the host processor and enabling response times in the nanosecond range.

Technical Specifications:

  • FPGA: Xilinx Kintex-7 70T

  • Analog Inputs: 8 channels, 16-bit resolution, 200 kS/s per channel simultaneous sampling rate

  • Analog Outputs: 8 channels, 16-bit resolution, 1 MS/s per channel simultaneous update rate

  • Digital I/O: 96 DIO lines, individually configurable, LVTTL/LVCMOS compatible

  • Bus Interface: PCI Express x4 Gen 1
