The Beckhoff EL1859 is a High Density (HD) EtherCAT Terminal that combines eight digital channels within a compact 12 mm housing. A key feature of this terminal is its flexibility; each of the eight channels can be individually configured to operate as either a digital input or a digital output. This versatility allows for a highly adaptable I/O solution, saving space in the control cabinet and reducing the number of required components. The outputs can handle loads up to 0.5 A and are protected against short-circuits and reverse polarity. The signal state for each channel is clearly indicated by an integrated LED, simplifying diagnostics and commissioning.
