The motor model is a code used to facilitate business contacts between users, designers, manufacturers and other departments and to simplify the description of product names, specifications, models, etc. in technical documents. The motor model consists of four parts: motor type code, motor specification code, special environment code and supplementary code.

1. Motor model composition
It consists of four sections in sequence: motor type code, motor feature code, design serial number and excitation method code.
①Motor type code
Chinese phonetic letters used to represent various types of motors. For example: asynchronous motor Y, synchronous motor T, synchronous generator TF, DC motor Z, DC generator ZF.

②Motor feature code
Represents the performance, structure or purpose of the motor, and is represented by Chinese phonetic letters: B for flameproof type, YT for YB axial flow fan, YEJ for electromagnetic brake type, YVP for variable frequency speed regulation type, YD for variable pole multi-speed type, YZD for crane, etc.

③Design serial number
Refers to the design sequence of motor products, expressed in Arabic numerals. The first designed product is not marked with a design serial number, and the products derived from the series are marked according to the design sequence, such as: Y2, YB2.
④Excitation method code.
Indicated by letters, S represents third harmonic, J represents thyristor, and X represents phase compound excitation.
2. Motor specification code
The specification code of the motor is mainly expressed by center height, base length, core length and number of poles.

① Center height is the height from the center of the shaft to the plane of the base. According to the different center heights, the motor can be divided into four types: large, medium, small and micro. Among them, the center height:
H is 45mm~71mm, which is a micro motor.
H is 80mm~315mm, which is a small motor.
H is 355mm~630mm, which is a medium motor.
H is above 630mm, which is a large motor.

② The length of the machine base is indicated by international letters:
S——Short machine base
M——Medium machine base
L——Long machine base
③ The length of the core is indicated by Arabic numerals 1, 2, 3, 4, from long to short.
④The number of poles is divided into 2 poles, 4 poles, 6 poles, 8 poles, etc.
3. Special environment code of motor
Motor products are often affected by harmful factors in the surrounding environment during storage, transportation and use. The special environmental conditions of motors can be divided into two categories: natural climate environment and industrial environment according to the nature of the environmental factors. The natural climate environment mainly includes tropical, marine, cold, underground and plateau environments; the industrial environment mainly includes corrosive environments, explosive environments, high and low temperatures, high and low pressures, solid particles and dust, high-energy rays and special mechanical loads.
Special environment codes: G for “high” environment, H for ship (“sea”), W for outdoor environment, F for chemical anti-corrosion, T for tropical environment, TH for wet tropical environment, and TA for dry tropical environment.

4. Supplementary code of motor
Supplementary code is only applicable to motors with supplementary requirements and is represented by Chinese phonetic letters (should not be repeated with special environment codes) or Arabic numerals. The content of the supplementary code includes installation method, protection level, etc.
①Installation type
There are two types of installation types for electric motors: vertical (B) and horizontal (V).

In actual production, the commonly used horizontal installation methods are B3 (with base, no direct mounting flange) and B35 (with base, with direct mounting flange), and the commonly used vertical installation method is B5 (vertical, without base, with direct mounting flange). The motors have the same frame number, center height, installation dimensions and overall dimensions.

②Protection level
The protection level of the motor is divided into anti-contact protection level and waterproof protection level. IP23 means that the motor is protected against the entry of solids larger than 12mm and is water proof; IP44 means that the motor is protected against the entry of solids larger than 1mm and is splash-proof.
In summary, when we see that the product model of the motor is YB2-132S-4 H, we understand its meaning:
